Mongol Trial

The Mongol Trial was a very fun activity which I enjoyed a lot. The only bad part about it was that sometimes during cross examination it got a little awkward. Overall though this helped to further my knowledge about the Mongols. I had the opening statement so I did not have to deal with the unknown of what the cross examiner was going to ask but in a way in wish I could have been a witness because then I could have logically argued our side. I was defending the Mongols and I still agree with that stance because I think because of the situation and the time period the Mongols actions were justifiable. I think we should admire the Mongols for the determination but not praise them for their over use of violence in some cases.

Genghis Khan

In my opinion do not think Genghis Khan was a psychopathic killer. He was just like any other ruler who had to kill his enemies to gain more land and power. And it is bad that he killed women and children but that was part of how ruthless leaders were in that time period. The main reasons why he wasn't an awful merciless person was because he valued loyalty and he tried to justify his killings. This shows that he had morals that he tried to lead his career by. He also had a heart because even though him and his friend went their separate ways and he was betrayed he still tried to give him a second chance, and not kill him. I also think it was a nice thing to go yo the lengths he did to protect his wife.

The Crusades Project 1/12..Finally Done :)

Now that I am done with this project I can look back and reflect on how it went.  I think the twitter thing went well but in the future I probably wouldn't do this again.  It got kind of confusing and it was hard if you messed up because of the order of the tweets.  I think it came out good and I hope it is as clear and understandable as I think it is.  I really liked the whole idea of collaborating with other people because it was really helpful! It was cool to give and get advice via our blogs too.

Too find my project search @MuslimGirl135 on twitter and the name is just Muslim Girl.  My tweets are all there!

So I am so frustrated because I just realized I forgot to put in these tweets. :( They were supposed to follow after the one with the picture...sorry
Our holy city of Jerusalem has been lost #devastating

People have been saying this has been a divine punishment by God for us not following our religious duties #timetopray

We need to liberate our territory back from the #evil crusaders

Crusades Project 1/11

So as of right now I am writing out the tweets I plan to use, but I don't want to do them officially until later tomorrow so I known the order is right and everything is just the way I want. People have been really helpful with this project, like Paige giving me advice and help on a post on one of my blogs, talking about the fifth crusade outside of school with Priscilla, getting ideas and talking about it with Nadia, and getting advice about formatting my tweets with Rhiannon. I have also been trying to help them too with their problems. Google is still my top choice, but bing has also been really helpful. I never really used that website before but for this project it is helpful.

Crusades Project 1/10

So after doing some more research I have (temporarily) decided ocrusades first, third, and fifth crusades. I want to do the first one because it was militarily successful and I found a lot of information on it. I want to do the third crusade because primarily I am interested in Babarossa and he is involved in this one. And lastly I want to do the fifth crusade because I think it will make it interesting writing from a Muslim's point of view on this because the crusade was kind of pathetic. Now I need to try and find people with the same crusades to work together!

The Crusades Project 1/9

I have started researching the different crusades to figure out what three I want to focus on but I have not decided yet.  I have been using websites like google and yahoo to help and of course wikipedia to get a general idea of the different crusades.  I tried using my encyclopedias but they were not helpful because they are so old.  I am pretty sure I have decided on a twitter account pretending I am a Muslim girl who experienced the crusades for the project.  This will make it interesting hopefully!
